Merry Christmas!

Here's my final Christmas card for this year, using an adorable image from Sugar Nellie. I've die-cut a couple of snowflakes from glitter card and decorated them with Meiflower 2mm and 4mm stick on gems for a different look, I also added a small diamanté buckle to the bow, which was made using a pretty pale blue polka dot satin ribbon.

Thank you for dropping in and taking a look
and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you
A Very Merry Christmas
and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

A couple of quickies

Today I have a couple of cards made using a new Mega Bundle from Paper Creator, the cards are quick and easy to make, so ideal if you are in a rush, and once made up you can decorate them as you please. I added a few Meiflower items to mine, a ready made gingham bow, red stick on pearls, gold lurex ribbon and large jingle bells.

Lots of pearls!

I have two cards to show you today which I made in early September as samples for Meiflower.

For the first card I die cut lots of snowflakes from glitter card and dotted them randomly over the bottom two thirds of the card front, trimming off the overlap. I added blue gingham ribbon, tying two bows and overlapping one over the other, then added a die-cut circle of glitter card and a diamante snowflake embellishment. I also die-cut the sentiment from glitter card.

The second card is a very simple design, just an embossed background, (the card is a beautiful colour in real life, photo doesn't do it justice), wrapped with organza ribbon and then a die cut white poinsettia, all finished off with lots of pearls

Ribbons, pearls and diamanté snowflake are all available at Meiflower.

Bauble dangle card

Here's an easel Christmas card I made, die-cutting a frame for the middle, then cutting out four baubles, creasing them down the middle and sticking them together back to back to make a 3D bauble, which dangles from the top of the frame when the card is open. The bauble is tied to the frame with red metallic cord, and a narrow satin ribbon bow has been attached over the hole. I also added green pearls to each corner of the frame and the front corners of the easel base, just to give a bit of interest, and found some lace in my stash that was ideal for threading ribbon through, as usual, ribbon, cord and pearls are all from Meiflower.

A little idea!

Here's a card I made for a recent challenge over at The Paper Shelter, I added the swirls to the die cut circle, but felt that they needed something more, then I came up with the idea of following the curves of the swirls with Meiflower stick on gems, I think they look just the part.

A little bit of Christmas

I don't know why but red and green gingham ribbon always make me think of Christmas, which is why I find myself using it a lot on my Christmas cards. Luckily Meiflower have quite a good selection of colours of gingham ribbon and a couple of widths too, so I can always find what I want.

Here's my card for the Teddy Bo challenge, using Meiflower's wide red gingham ribbon, I also used one of their round Dazzlers for the snowflake centre, they are soooo sparkly and perfect for Christmas cards because they look like icy crystals.

A Couple of Christmas Cards

Here's a couple of cards I made last weekend, after somehow or other printing out the topper sheet twice, for a Christmas pop up box I was making. It seemed such a shame to waste the card and ink, so I grabbed some bits and pieces from my stash, along with ribbon, a ready made bow, pearl and a couple of jingle bells from Meiflower.

These came from the box flap toppers

and these would have been the pop-up elements of the box.

Thanks for popping by,
Hope you enjoy your Sunday,

In the 20's

I have another card today, this time using a Paper Shelter image called In the 20's, our present challenge is Pearls, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to use some of Meiflower's stick on pearls to decorate the edges of  the oval frame and the gorgeous 10mm satin ribbon in Teal and Old Gold to make a bow that matched my colour combo perfectly.

Princess card

Here's a card I made using a Sugar Nellie digi-stamp and my favourite colour combo. I layered a Meiflower organza ribbon and narrow satin ribbon over each other as I wanted to include both colours, then made a double looped bow with the organza and a normal bow with the satin and again layered one over the other.

Pearls and promarkers

Today's card has been decorated with 4mm Satin ribbon, a Wish charm and pearl heart embellishment all from Meiflower. I used a yellow Promarker to colour the centre of the pearl embellishment, so pleased with the result and handy to know I can match the embellishment to the card colours really easily.

Shabby Chic!

Here's a card I made for the latest Paper Shelter challenge anything goes challenge. I used some of their papers to make a - hopefully - Shabby Chic card.
I used a Catalina Wreath die from memory box and found the various sizes of Meiflower stick on pearls ideal to add to the centres of the flowers in the wreath.

Acetate strips

Hi there, just wanted to pop in and show you an embellishment I made for my most recent card.
I wanted a feather fan to go on my Art Deco style card, and decided to make my own by die-cutting a seashell from silver mirri card then cutting off the corners to make it a better shape. I wanted to bling up the fan a little bit, so I cut teeny tiny strips of acetate and used Meiflower's 2mm stick on crystals to decorate them before attaching to the back of the shell, then finally adding the feathers. I love the way it turned out.

Close up of the fan showing the acetate and gem strips.

Handsome Max

Here's a couple of cards I made using the same Sassy Cheryl pre-coloured image, papers and embellishments, the second card was a challenge from my husband to use all the left over bits of paper from the first card to make another.
I used Meiflower grosgrain ribbon and little buttons to decorate the cards.

Carry on Cleo

I wanted to show you this card, part of my DT work over at the Paper Shelter, which as well as being blinged up with lots of Meiflower stick on crystals also has some of her square Dazzles on there (turned sideways to make diamonds). You won't find the Dazzles on the website and would have to phone up to order any,or pick them up at the shows,  but they are gorgeously sparkly and come in squares, circles, hearts, marquise and rectangle shapes, they remind me of pave diamonds. On this card I have used my Promarkers to colour them in red and green so that they match the rest of the card it was so easy and looks really effective, you still get the sparkle but just in a different colour.

First Holy Communion

My friends twins took their First Holy Communion at the weekend so I thought I would show you the cards I made for them.
Chloe, her daughter had picked out the image she wanted me to use because she said it looked like she was going to look on the day. The skirt of her dress was made up of layers of flounces so I used some Meiflower ribbon to try and represent that and lots of glitter and gems to match up the sparkly top of the dress. (There is a photo of Chloe in her dress on my blog if you want to check it out)
Keiron's card on the other hand is very plain with only a small Meiflower cross charm tied on with some satin ribbon.

Wedding cake Stepper card

Hi there, here's a card I made using a topper set from Paper Creator. I use a few die cuts to embellish the card, then added Meiflower gems and pearls to decorate them along with an organza bow and a diamante wedding rings embellishment - also available from Meiflower.

The heart is a memory box die, which I cut out, then I pushed the centre part out rubbed it over with a pink pearly ink pad and pushed it back into place again, I then added a tiny AB crystal to the centre of each shape.

Thanks for stopping by,
have a lovely weekend,

Flowers, flowers everywhere!

Here's a birthday card I made using lots of punched flowers and 2 sizes of pink stick on gems from Meiflower.

The dragonfly is a Penny Black die and the flowers were made with X-cut palm punches. The two smallest sizes of gems are just perfect for the centres of these little flowers.

Relax!

Hi all, just wanted to pop on and show you my latest card, it's one of those dreaded masculine cards, which I am never sure how to embellish, do you go with satin bows and glitter? don't think most men/boys would be into that so I always end up going for Grosgrain ribbon (seems a bit more masculine than satin or organza) and buttons, luckily Meiflower have a good selection of each.

and for the final one, after decorating the card with a punched border I embellished with organza ribbon, buttons, stick on gems and metallic cord.

Ribbons, gems, buttons, metallic cord and charm are all available from Meiflower.
