Fabulous Fifty!

I came across a couple of cards in my Meiflower folder that I realised I hadn't yet blogged, so here they are.

The first one was for my friends 50th birthday, everything was cut out on my Silhouette machine, I added a little detail to the numbers, dress and jewellery with some Meiflower stick on gems.

The other two are Christmas cards from last year.

I found the bubble wreath digi stamp on the internet for free from Blackberry Jelly HERE, I re-sized it so that the rings were the right size for the gems and after printing, added black glitter to the outline. I cut it out leaving a border, added the stick on gems and then fixed it to the card front with foam pads.

For this card - after adding some gorgeous red gingham Meiflower ribbon and a big bow across the front, from white card I cut out three fishtail banners, big enough to fit my die-cut letters, then using wire cutters, I removed the centre bar from an oval diamante buckle, which then became the O in Joy.

How many 2mm gems...?

...does it take to make 60 little heart outlines?, it takes 1200 that's how many, and I should know as I have recently made 60 save the date fridge magnets for my best friends daughter and each had a little gem heart encircling the date.
I couldn't find ready made hearts in the colour and size required so I punched 60 hearts from acetate and then proceeded to outline each one with twenty 2mm cerise pink gems, it took a while let me tell you.

When I made the sample, the colour scheme hadn't been chosen, but once the decision was made I got busy and spent a couple of weeks, printing, cutting, sticking and making daisies and hearts.

The photos are off my phone so are not brilliant, but we have - top left  - the original sample, across the bottom are all the daisies punched out and layered up and the start of the hearts production line ( I punched out and then gemmed 12 at a time, to give me a break from the monotony of getting all the little gems positioned correctly around the heart).
In the top right corner you can see all the magnets finished, packaged up and ready to go.
I have one stuck to my fridge as we speak.

Only the day and night invitations, order of service, table plan, place cards etc., to do now!

A big thank you to Meiflower for supplying me with all those barbie pink gems, they were a perfect match to the colour Alison is having.

Something a little different

Today I thought I would show you a couple of box photo frames I have made over the last couple of weeks, one for my daughters friends new baby and the other for a friend of mine who was renewing her wedding vows.

All the embellishments were cut with my Silhouette machine, I then decorated the top corner of the initial with lots of Meiflower stick on gems and pearls, and added gems down the butterfly body and in the centres of the flowers on the shoes.

With this one, after embossing the white pearl card with the Couture Creations Tied Together embossing folder I added small AB stick on gems wherever the lines crossed.

Thanks for popping in,
take care,

A bit more Lavender

Here are a couple more cards from the Nitwits Lavender collection magazine commission.

Gorgeous wide organza ribbon, threaded through a diamante ribbon buckle is used to decorate this card, I also added a stick on gem over the printed gem in the design.
and here again I covered the digital gems with real ones.

Meiflower has a great selection of ribbons in loads of colours and widths, a great choice of diamante toppers and a huge variety of gem sizes and colours, there is more available than the online store shows, so if there is a particular size or colour you are looking for it is worth ringing or emailing to enquire.

Lavender, lace and a bit of bling.

I've had a busy couple of months making wedding stationery, going on holiday and doing lots of bits and bobs, which has meant the blog has been a little bit neglected, but I am finally getting a bit of time to get back to it.

Today I have a couple of cards to show you from a magazine commission I did for Papercraft Essentials issue 152 which came out on 19th October, yes, I am a just a little bit late in posting them LOL!.
I used the fabulous Nitwits Lavender collection and didn't really add much in the way of extra embellishments, just a little ribbon and bling.

I added some 5mm satin ribbon and a gorgeous Meiflower ribbon buckle to this one.

Black stick on gems in different sizes finished off the body of the butterfly beautifully.
and here I added gems to the digital gems that were already printed on the embellishments.

More Idyllic-ness!

Here are the last three cards for my Simply Cards and Papercraft commission using Nitwits Idyllic digital scrapbooking kit.
These cards have lots of decoupage layers, I love adding decoupage to my cards, but sometimes I don't know when to stop!

On this card the hat is made up of about 5 layers of decoupage and the flower about 7, see I told you I don't know when to stop LOL!.

For this card I used the three label tags from the Lil'Bits elements kit, and re-sized them so that each one was smaller than the one before I turned them on their sides and layered them up with foam pads. The stopper and butterfly are both made up of two layers and the bow which is also from the kit is made up of three layers.

Lots of cutting out on this one, after gluing the border papers to each end I cut around them to give shaped edges, then decoupaged up the window box, flowers and butterfly.

All the ribbons, gems and pearls are from Meiflower.

Simply cards and papercraft magazine

I have some cards in the latest issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft, using the fabulous Nitwits Idyllic collection, I thoroughly enjoyed making the cards for this commission as digital is my first love!
I am also a bit of a decoupage-aholic so about half of the six cards I made have lots of layers, the others just have some layers, today I will show you the ones with the least amount of cutting out.

I have used lots of Meiflower products on my card, including ribbons, buttons, stick on gems and stick on pearls.

Thanks for dropping in,
