Grosgrain ribbon and an ink pad?

Here's a card I made from one of Paper Creator's ultimate kits, I used Meiflower grosgrain ribbon and football shirt charm to embellish the card, but I inked along the edges of the grosgrain ribbon with a blank ink pad before using and really liked the effect, especially on the knot.

Christmas and Video Games

Two of my design teams both have challenges starting today, so I will be showing you two cards for the price of one.

The first card, is my first Christmas card of the year, which is for the Christmas in July challenge over at Paper Creator, I used one of the ultimate kits and embellished the design with Meiflower ribbons, gems and pearls.

The second card is for the Paper Shelter's For the boys challenge, I added punched stars to the card and then used some of Meiflowers tiny buttons in the middle of each and added polka dot grosgrain ribbon across the front of the card.

Pretty in Pink

I haven't been around much recently as my youngest daughter hasn't been very well and ended up in hospital, she had to have a blood transfusion amongst other things, and as she is disabled, her dad and I were at the hospital all day, every day with her. She is home now and doing OK, although she's not 100% better yet.
Today I have a card I made about a month ago, but haven't managed to blog yet, I used a paper and image from Nitwits Romance and Roses collection, computer generated the sentiment, arranging the blossom image around it and finished it all off with various Meiflower ribbons, gems, a diamante buckle and lace from my stash.

Owl always love you!

Today I have a card made using images from a Kraftyhands CD Rom called What a Hoot, I used ribbons, gems and pearls from Meiflower to  "dress" the bride and groom, using 25mm white organza ribbon as a veil with gems for a  headdress, part of a doily made her gown and was finished of with more gems. The groom has a silver grey dickie bow and matching hat band made using 4mm satin ribbon and 2mm pearls for shirt buttons and 3mm gems for his waistcoat buttons.

Baby first birthday card

Here's a card I made for a friend, it was a bit of a last minute request so I printed out decoupage and papers from the Crafters Companion Bebunni Baby Papercrafting CD rom for quickness.
I used two different sizes of pearls from Meiflower, putting a larger pearl in each corner and a smaller one either side, just to add a bit of extra detail to the card, the gorgeous pink organza ribbon is also from Meiflower.

The fairy and the frog

Today's card was made for the Lace challenge over at The Paper Shelter, I added stick on gems to the punched border, around the die cut doily and in between the satin ribbon that was threaded through the lace. I also added a diamanté ribbon slider to the bow.

Card and boxelope

Here's a card with matching boxelope I made for a GDT spot I won at My Sheri challenge blog, the theme is Birthday Bash and they wanted a card with coordinating envelope, but because of the die-cut flowers on my card I couldn't fit it into a regular envelope so ended up making a boxelope instead.

I decorated the card and boxelope with Meiflowers gorgeous Lilac floral print ribbon, diamante ribbon slider and lilac stick on gems.

What's new pussycat!

Here's a card I made for the latest challenge over at Paper Creator the theme is animals, so I made up the kitty card adding Meiflower pink stick on gems to the cat's collar, then used Meiflower black satin ribbon to the border, tying a jingle bell into the bow and adding more gems down the length of the ribbon.

DIY crystal swirls

When making my DT card for the latest challenge over at The Paper Shelter I decided to use Meiflower black stick on gems to make some swirls to fill a couple of blank areas.

You can see the swirls at the top left and bottom right of my image.

I made the gem swirls by cutting a piece of plain card to the size of the area I wanted the swirl to go, I  drew a swirl onto the card with a pencil and used my pricking tool to punch holes through the swirl design at regular intervals. I then used this as a template, placing it onto the card and drawing a dot through each of the holes with a propelling pencil, I removed the card and stuck a gem to each dot and et voila! I had my swirls.

Give it a try, it was really easy.

Ruffled ribbon

Meiflower has some gorgeous ruffled ribbon, which is not on the website at the moment, so you would need to telephone or email if you want some. She has been selling it for a while at the Cake decorating shows, but will now be selling it at the regular craft shows too. I love it! it's sort of scalloped and ruffled along the edges and flat in the middle and comes in a great range of colours, although be warned at the Leigh craft show a couple of weeks ago, it had sold out within a couple of hours.

I have used a little of it on my card below, adding a lemon satin ribbon across the middle. I have also used yellow stick on pearls.

Wedding Invitations 2015 part 2

Here are another three of the wedding invitation samples made for Meiflower to display on her stall. The first two are pretty straightforward, but the last one is a pocket card, with plenty of room to include all of the important information.

Wedding invitation samples 2015 part 1

It's that time of year again, when I make some wedding invitation samples to display on the Meiflower stall at all the craft shows they attend. I try to keep the designs fairly simple as I know how difficult and time consuming it can be when you have to make a lot of the same design.
All ribbons, gems, pearls, diamante toppers and satin rosebuds are available from Meiflower, there are more details on my blog.

Here are the first three.

Metallic cord

Meiflower metallic string makes a great addition to your cards, it's perfect for bunting and bows as well as many other things, and because it's metallic it adds a bit of sparkle, it comes in a large selection of colours as well as an iridescent.
On today's card I have used a lovely bright blue to hang my shell bunting.

Wedding day card

Here's a card I made for the latest challenge at The Paper Shelter, using a gorgeous image of a bride. Of course I had to have some bling on the wedding card, so added some of Meiflowers  AB stick on crystals to the doily and also dotted them in groups of three around the flowers, each flower has a pink gem in the middle too. The narrow satin ribbon was perfect for threading through the lace I found in my stash.

Pretty as a picture

Today's card is for the latest Paper Shelter challenge and features a pretty girl adding the finishing touch to her make-up.
To finish off the embellishments I decided to add Meiflower 5mm stick on pearls in the flower centres of the lace die-cut. You can't see the flower centres as they are covered by the 10mm satin lemon ribbon, so I had to take a chance that they were in the right place.
I also added one to the centre of the flower on the alphabet bunting and a larger one, from a multi pack, in the centre of the flower.

Happy New Year!

Here's my first card of 2015, a quickie (because I am full of flu) for the Paper Creator challenge.
I cut four 2cm strips of card and punched them all with a border design, I then arranged the strips to make a square frame, cutting off the excess. I added the frame to the card with tiny foam pads, and fixed Meiflower 3mm stick on pearls to the centre of each flower. The image was die-cut and then added to a scalloped die-cut square, before the whole thing was fixed into place within the centre of the frame. I used 4 large red pearls from Meiflowers multi size packs, to each corner of the image and a ready made bow to each side to finish off.
