Christmas and Video Games

Two of my design teams both have challenges starting today, so I will be showing you two cards for the price of one.

The first card, is my first Christmas card of the year, which is for the Christmas in July challenge over at Paper Creator, I used one of the ultimate kits and embellished the design with Meiflower ribbons, gems and pearls.

The second card is for the Paper Shelter's For the boys challenge, I added punched stars to the card and then used some of Meiflowers tiny buttons in the middle of each and added polka dot grosgrain ribbon across the front of the card.

Owl always love you!

Today I have a card made using images from a Kraftyhands CD Rom called What a Hoot, I used ribbons, gems and pearls from Meiflower to  "dress" the bride and groom, using 25mm white organza ribbon as a veil with gems for a  headdress, part of a doily made her gown and was finished of with more gems. The groom has a silver grey dickie bow and matching hat band made using 4mm satin ribbon and 2mm pearls for shirt buttons and 3mm gems for his waistcoat buttons.

Ruffled ribbon

Meiflower has some gorgeous ruffled ribbon, which is not on the website at the moment, so you would need to telephone or email if you want some. She has been selling it for a while at the Cake decorating shows, but will now be selling it at the regular craft shows too. I love it! it's sort of scalloped and ruffled along the edges and flat in the middle and comes in a great range of colours, although be warned at the Leigh craft show a couple of weeks ago, it had sold out within a couple of hours.

I have used a little of it on my card below, adding a lemon satin ribbon across the middle. I have also used yellow stick on pearls.

Wedding day card

Here's a card I made for the latest challenge at The Paper Shelter, using a gorgeous image of a bride. Of course I had to have some bling on the wedding card, so added some of Meiflowers  AB stick on crystals to the doily and also dotted them in groups of three around the flowers, each flower has a pink gem in the middle too. The narrow satin ribbon was perfect for threading through the lace I found in my stash.

Wedding Invitations 2014 - #1

Here is the first of my wedding invitation samples, I used Meiflower satin ribbon to make bunting, which I hung from metallic cord. I added the date with die cut numbers, punched out a couple of hearts and added a gem to each.
This would also work well as a Save the Date card.

Mr and Mr

Here's a card I made last year for a friend of mine to give to her son and partner for their civil ceremony, the bow ties and little pocket handkerchiefs are made from Meiflower 10mm satin ribbon, shirt buttons are stick on pearls and the little buttons on the suits are from Meiflower large selection of  small plain and polka dot buttons. I tied the sentiment tag on with 25mm burgundy organza ribbon and more of the 10mm satin ribbon.

Baby Carriage

Here's a baby card I made using lots of dies, a couple of punches and ribbon and stick on pearls from Meiflower. I used satin ribbon for the hood and pram of the baby carriage, by first applying a thin line of Collall tacky glue around the edges of the pram hood and blanket, then attaching the ribbon ( I used 25mm wide satin and 10mm wide satin), leaving it to dry and then trimming away the excess. I used the same ribbon and technique behind the die cut border too and then decorated with various sizes of stick on pearls finishing off with a double loop bow made from organza ribbon.

How much do I love you?

Here's a card I made for the latest Anything Goes challenge at Paper Creator using a Sassy Cheryl illustration which, as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for that sentiment, which I added to the image in Photoshop.
I punched small holes at the top and bottom of the card and threaded Meiflower narrow satin ribbon through them, tying the Love charm onto the ribbon before tying a bow. I used split rings to dangle the heart charm from the O of the love charm and then fixed the love charm onto the card using Collall tacky glue.

Neon Satin Ribbons

Here is a very bright and cheerful card, the image was coloured and papers chosen to go with the fabulous neon satin ribbons from Meiflower. Everything was matted onto black card to make the colours really pop!

The coloured gems in the centres of the die-cut corner matched the ribbons perfectly and all came from the Summer Mix Gems - Mixed sizes.

Meiflower Jingle Bells

Just wanted to quickly pop in and show you a couple of cards I made, used the same printed papers, image and embellishments on both but with a different coloured background card and different layout. I have added a couple of Meiflower Jingle Bells to each card, these little bells are a perfect addition to Christmas cards, come in red, green, gold and silver and also a couple of different sizes. I have used the smallest, but bigger ones are available.

The card has three bows, one made of 25mm organza ribbon, one of 10mm satin ribbon and one from white metallic cord (all available from Meiflower) layered on top of each other - the metallic cord also has a couple of Meiflower jingle bells tied onto it. Tag Cards

I am not about as much as I would like to be at present, because as well as being full time carer for my disabled daughter, I am also looking after my two year old grandson most days while his mum and dad are at work and he has gone from a having a couple of hours of sleep a day, (when I could get a bit of crafting done), to not sleeping at all through the day and constantly wanting me to play with his cars or read his tractor books, (I am becoming quite an expert on tractors LOL!).
We have also recently found out that my 82 year old Father in law has widespread cancer so with one thing and another I just can't find much time for crafting, although,I do what I can when I can, as it's the only thing that is keeping me sane at the moment.

Here are a couple of cards I made using the Snow Much Joy ultimate kit from Paper Creator, the kits contains a Sassy Cheryl image, colour matched papers, a ready to print easel card and a make me a topper set as well as some extras like the tags I used for the tag cards below.

I made two tag shaped cards embellished with a sentiment and make me a topper set from the kit and finished them off with various Meiflower goodies, ribbons - satin, organza and metallic edged - stick on gems in lilac and blue and little silver jingle bells.

Thanks for dropping in,
enjoy your Sunday,

Rosebud tree

Today I have a couple of cards to show you all made with the same Nitwit collections kit - unfortunately when I printed out the first one I hadn't realised that the yellow ink nozzle was blocked and the colours came out different to how they should be, saying that I quite liked the colours so made it up anyway.
I used Meiflower satin ribbon Rosebud trios, ready made silver bows and 2mm crystals to decorate the tree. bunching a trio, a bow and some punched out holly leaves together and then filling the spaces with crystals in groups of three.

Inspired by the tag from the kit, I decided to use it to make a couple of tag shaped cards (I had fixed the ink problem by now, so these came out in the proper colours) using Meiflower wide satin ribbon to make bows for both, and adding a diamante and pearl ribbon slider to one.

Christmas Stackable set

Hi there, here's a Christmas set I made using a download from Paper Creator and then embellishing it with lots of crystals, pearls and ribbons from Meiflower.

The set consists of a drawer which contains three Christmas cards and envelopes. I used a stick on pearl either side of the drawer handle.

I added a satin ribbon rosebud trio and organza bow to the ornament and used tiny red stick on pearls for the holly berries.

On this card I used both 10mm and 25mm Satin ribbon and pink stick on gems.

I decorated the Christmas tree with 2mm stick on gems in red, deep pink and light pink, added a narrow satin ribbon bow to the top and AB crystals in the centre of the snowflakes.

Thanks for taking a look,
enjoy the weekend,
hugs,
Colette xx
